About this hat

Saint Valentine's was originally going to be called “The Old Country”. I wanted to create a hat which told the story of a journey. I seldom create antiqued or distressed hats preferring the natural patina that develops over time, but in this case, I worked the felt and ribbon to sympathetically create a pre-aged vintage-effect. The result is a hat which feels as though it has already been passed down for many generations. I added a faux wind trolley complete with two pressed metal beads and a reclaimed engraved buckle of unknown age and origin. A fan-array of dusty pink feathers completes this hat. It has a set-brim with asymmetrical sweep for a very natural look. The result Is a hat which looks like it was originally made sometime in the early 20th century and has undergone customisation and adaptation by subsequent wearers. Are you the next custodian and what will you contribute to the story of this hat?
