The wanderer is an example of a hat which evolved entirely during the making process. Originally intended to have a wide, floppy cavalier brim and a flamboyant band of twisted silk, instead, a simple peasant hat emerged. The resultant hat has high crown with hand-formed centre dent a medium width brim of 3 ½” inches and has a very simple felt “bootlace” band with wooden toggle and self-colour tassels cut from remnants of the brim. It is unlined and features a dark brown leather sweatband. When paired with countrywear, this hat has a quietly understated yet extremely imposing silhouette which draws just the right kind of attention to the wearer.
