About this hat

Locksley is a hat inspired by the English folklore figure, Robin Hood. For this hat, I paid homage to the classic Erol Flyn costume; but I am by no means the first contemporary hat maker to reimagine this hat for daily wear. In the 1930s, Dunn & Co had a hat called “The Robin Hood” (presumably in response to the popularity of the film) and in the 1940s and 50s, many hat brands hat coarse, green, long-haired felt hats with Tyrolene and country styling. My version also borrows from cowboy styling, military cocked hats (bicorns) and modern millinery with an asymmetrical “pillbox” crown. Satin lined with leather sweatband.
