George is a hat that was almost entirely created during development. The burnt-orange felt arrived and I experimented with one of my extra-tall crown blocks; this shape shared only with “Jack of Hearts” to-date. The felt came in a large-cone format and proved difficult to get flat; instead of fighting, I implemented a “secret process” to get an unusual double-under-welt – to my knowledge, a brim treatment entirely unique to this hat. The orange marries nicely with a contrasting brown-purple-pink-orange woven-band which gives this piece an immediately psychedelic vibe. Indeed, it feels like a hat that should be worn by a wizard/shaman/mystic from some obscure 1970s European arthouse film! It is offered unlined with a leather sweatband.
