Something of an experiment, originally conceived as a hat for me to wear, it features a high, 6 ½” tapered crown with a hand formed asymmetrical centre-dent and flat brim which has been roughly hand-formed into a sweeping cavalier style. This has is made from a heavyweight stiff western felt body. It is not distressed, but has been lightly pre-aged to give it a natural, lived-in feel. It is trimmed with a matching band of chenille, a pewter stud featuring a sun motif, a shell bead-tassel and a simple cluster of pheasant feathers arranged in a metal conical viol. It is unlined with a leather sweatband.
