Quixote is a reimagining of a classic bolero hat often called a Cordobes, a style synonymous with Andalusia. This hat is made from stiff western-weight felt which ensures the brim will stay completely flat - an important feature of the classic bolero shape. I have trimmed the hat with an oxblood napa leather band with the reverse (suede) side facing and fitted reclaimed riveted conchos using cast pewter studs. Fully lined in a Chinese-style brocade fabric with natural leather sweatband. After making this hat I reshaped the hat block for another project thus dictating that this shape cannot be repeated.
